1. Important notices

  • The Ministry of Health issued an amendment to the Protective Measure regarding the conditions of entry into the Czech Republic effective as of September 30th, 2021. You can find the consolidated version in English here (pdf, 648 kB).

  • The Ministry of Health updated the Protective Measure regarding the conditions of entry into the Czech Republic
    As of August 23rd, 2021 in accordance with the full vaccination certificate coming into effect, anti-epidemic measures will be eased also for vaccinated third country citizens, under the condition that the third country citizen has been vaccinated by a vaccine approved by European Medicine Agency (EMA) or by its equivalent. Vaccinated persons must be holders of a certificate on completed vaccination course against COVID-19, whose template is published in the list of recognised certificates on the website of the Ministry of the Health of the Czech Republic. Without the obligation to meet other epidemiological measures, vaccinated persons travelling from countries for which an implementing act in accordance with the European Union regulation on EU digital COVID certificates was adopted may also enter the territory of the Czech Republic. These persons can newly travel to the Czech Republic for any reason and at the same time, they can benefit from visa services at Czech embassies that are fully available again. This shall not apply to countries with an extreme risk of COVID-19, in which the visa services are still limited to certain type of titles.

  • As of July 31st, 2021, the Ministry of Health updated the Protective Measure regarding the conditions of entry into the Czech Republic.
    Children between 6 to 12 years of age travelling from the countries with a high or a very high risk of COVID-19 transmission may undergo RT-PCR immediately after their arrival in the Czech Republic and finish self-isolation by obtaining of a negative test result. This age group also does not need to be tested before arrival to the Czech Republic any more. An updated measure also newly enable to accept applications for long-term visas and long-term residence permits for the purpose of study pursuant to § 64 para. a) of Act No. 326/1999 Coll., on the stay of foreigners in the territory of the Czech Republic and on the amendment of certain acts as amended (study in accredited study programmes at a university for the academic / school year 2021/2022) in the countries with extreme risk of COVID-19 transmission.

2. Entry into the territory of the Czech Republic

The rules for entering the territory of the Czech Republic and quarantine measures are defined by the Ministry of Health Protective Measure from September 10th, 2021 amended by the Protective Measure from September 29th, 2021. The consolidated version is here (pdf, 648 kB). List of countries with a low, medium, high risk and very high risk of COVID-19 transmission is HERE (pdf, 443 kB). Information regarding entry to other countries is the responsibility of the embassies in the countries of destination and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The activities of diplomatic missions of the Czech Republic are gradually resumed. Depending on the epidemiological situation, the conditions for entry into the Czech Republic will also be gradually relaxed. - citizens of Czechia and foreign nationals with residence permit issued by Czechia
- citizens of EU+ and foreign nationals with long-term or permanent residence permit issued by EU+

Rules for entry and return to the Czech Republic (as of September 30th, 2021)
- 3rd-country nationals who do not have any residence permit issued by Czechia or long-term or permanent residence permit issued by other EU+ country
- 3rd-country nationals who have a short-term visa issued by Czechia before 11th May 2020 or short-term or long-term visa issued by other EU+ country
