Launch Conference of the Home Affairs Programme

On 27 March 2019, the Launch Conference of the Home Affairs Programme financed by the Norway Grants 2014-2021 was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of the Interior in Prague. 

Opening speeches were given by the representatives of the Programme Operator – Ministry of the Interior, the National Focal Point – Ministry of Finance, and the Police of the Czech Republic. Distinguished guest of the conference was the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway in the Czech Republic, H.E. Robert Kvile, who highlighted the importance of Czech-Norwegian cooperation. Programme operator also welcomed the Mayor of Kutná Hora and representatives of the non-profit sector.

Participants of the event were presented with the Programme and its objectives, as well as the possibilities of support of bilateral cooperation between the institutions from the Czech Republic and the donor countries.

A total of 120,000,000 CZK from Norway Grants will be used to implement projects to increase police competence in preventing and combating crime, improving police communication skills and strengthening international cooperation in promoting media literacy and combating hybrid threats. The funds will be distributed among four pre-defined projects (PDPs) and two open calls of a small grant scheme (SGS). The beneficiary of the PDP support is the Police Presidium of the Czech Republic. Calls for proposals within the SGS will be open for the representatives of governmental and non-governmental non-profit organizations, academic institutes, scientific institutions and the civic public.

The first call of the SGS is expected to be announced in the second to third quarter of 2019, the implementation of the predefined projects in the second half of this year.
