Germany introduces a mandatory 14-day quarantine

The Federal Republic and the Länder have agreed that all citizens of Germany, EU citizens, citizens of the Schengen area or long-term residents who return to their residence in Germany after having been abroad for several days will be required to pass a two-weeks mandatory quarantine. Specific measures are implemented by the Länder.

The general exceptions to the quarantine obligation apply to: activities in the areas of transport, health sector, public security, etc.; employees and crews of planes, ships, trains and buses; commuters and business travelers; armed forces and police; transit; and seasonal workers.
