Ministry of Health Protective Measure

EU+ citizens, given they meet all epidemiological conditions, will be allowed to travel into the Czech Republic for any purpose including tourism. Regarding the non-EU countries, the ban on entering the territory of the Czech Republic is still in force, except for green countries and specified categories that are in compliance with the coordinated approach of EU.

The basic epidemiological rules depend on the risk of COVID-19 transmission in a country, in which the person concerned stayed more than 12 hours during the last 14 days. Regarding the entry and stay in the territory of the Czech Republic, the obligation of testing is still in force, expect for green countries. An exception from obligatory testing applies to some vaccinated persons or those who have had COVID-19 during the last 180 days. In case of travels from dark red countries, the obligation to undergo an RT-PCR test for the presence of SARS-CoV-2 after the entry or return into the territory of the Czech Republic still persists, although Czech citizens or EU citizens with a valid long-term or permanent residence permit who have had COVID-19 in EU or are fully vaccinated with EMA authorized vaccinations are allowed to undergo the test immediately after arrival (they are not obliged to wait five days after the arrival to undergo the test). The rules for travelling from countries with an extreme risk of COVID-19 infection remain the same, i.e. the obligation of a test before arrival, two tests after arrival and self-isolation still applies.

The rules for entry are described below in the schemes. The first one describes the rules regarding Czech citizens and foreigners with a residence permit issued by the Czech Republic, EU+ citizens and foreign nationals with a valid long-term or permanent residence permit for residence in the EU+ countries. The second scheme describes the conditions of entry as regards other foreign nationals.
