In
Hungary the role of national coordinator exists; it is performed by the State Secretary for Law Enforcement. His task – among others – is to monitor the actions, successes and challenges regarding THB.

The national coordinator coordinates the work of the so called national coordination mechanism, which is consists of the representatives of – among others – the institutions included into the referral mechanism.
This model has both its advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages: close and effective work with police and other governmental and non-governmental agencies. Financially safe position as it is within the Ministry of Justice and Law Enforcement. Disadvantage: as this position belongs to the governmental sector it cannot directly influence the activities of other sectors.

The Coordinator shall annually report to the Government on steps taken and remaining challenges. Upon these annual action plan is adopted.
