The Government can prolong the measure based on the assessment of the situation. In the meantime, it will be possible to cross the state border between the Czech Republic and Slovakiaonly at selected border crossing points and with valid documents.

Border controls will be carried out along the entire length of the border.

During the time this measure is in place, the crossing of the border at other points will not be allowed. The only exceptions to this measure are the rescue and emergency services and the farmers, gamekeepers and other staff that carry out their professional activities in the border areas.

Cross the border between the Czech Republic and Slovakia at the selected border crossing points and do not forget to take your travel documents or residence permits with you.

Are there any exceptions for cross-border commuters?
No. To commute to work, use the closest enabled border crossing point. The only exceptions apply to the emergency and rescue services, the farmers that run their farms in the immediate border areas, and the foresters, gamekeepers and fishermen who work in the immediate border areas.
Do the conditions for entering the Czech Republic change? What do I have to carry with me?
No, the conditions for entering the country stay unchanged. Do not forget to take a travel document (an ID or a passport) with you and see to it that all persons travelling with you, including children, have such documents with them as well.
Is the green border closed as well? What if I cross the border unknowingly during a trip?
Yes, the green border (or the land border) is closed. The crossing points not listed above are closed as well. Crossing the border out of the selected crossing points is an offence and it can be fined up to 50,000 CZK (or on the spot up to 5,000 CZK).
Can I go to my country house on the other side of the border?
