eID and Public Registers Conference

The Czech Ministry of Interior and the European Commission are jointly organising the conference, entitled “eID and Public Registers”. The conference will be held on 7 April 2009, in Hradec Králové and will be preceded by an informal dinner on 6 April in Prague.
This significant event during the Czech Presidency will present the results achieved and plans for the next future in the domain of eID and public registers across Europe. Interoperability of eID solutions across EU Member States has been widely recognized as a key enabler for widening of the EU services market and the development of the information society in general. The conference will bring together all relevant stakeholders and representatives of the related most important projects and initiatives.
The "eID and Public Registers" conference will be arranged in relation to the 12th annual ISSS conference (Internet in the Public Administration and Self-government). This is a well established event that regularly attracts around 2000 participants. The conference embraces an exhibition where around 100 exhibitors present their products, solutions and services for public administration.
Following the welcome keynote addresses of the Czech Minister of Interior, Mr. Ivan Langer, Director General DG INFSO EC, Mr. Fabio Colasanti, and the Mayor of Hradec Kralove, Mr. Otakar Divisek, the conference will feature high level speakers from public administrations, EU institutions, and experts from both industry and academia.
Admission to the conference is by personal invitation only. Please note that only registered delegates will be allowed entry to the event.
